SAPA-WEST is a not-for-profit and non-political organization headquartered in San Francisco Bay Area. SAPA-WEST serves the pharmaceutical professionals with a Chinese heritage in the West Coast of the US and has more than 1000 registered members.

The primary purpose of SAPA-WEST is to develop a scientific professionals' institution to serve the professionals in life sciences and promote the vitality of life sciences. There are multiple ways that SAPA-WEST fulfills this mission. SAPA-WEST works to educate the public and advances public knowledge in the progress and development in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological sciences, the health professions, and the related academic disciplines; SAPA-WEST also promotes the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and other life sciences in every aspect, such as bridging and developing a cooperative relationship in the aspects of life sciences between the United States and China; SAPA-WEST makes great efforts at fostering career growth and development of members; and SAPA-WEST provides a forum for the interchange of technical or non-technical knowledge in all aspects of life sciences.

Among the many activities organized by SAPA-WEST, most noticeable are the many scientific and business symposia and annual conferences organized by SAPA-WEST. The success of SAPA-WEST is only made possible by the support of many warm-hearted colleagues and friends. As a non-profit organization, SAPA-WEST relies on their donated time and efforts. Every year, for either annual conferences or symposiums, our honored speakers volunteered their time to speak at these events.
